I hate you! I've been good staying off eBay and I don't need, but so close I had to make an offer.

Didn't work out. Unsure if I'm happy or sad about that.

His asking price was not out of line, IF I was looking, but with all the Vetter I have stuffed in rafters and such , I don't really need more. I just hate to see stuff scrapped if I or someone else may have a future use for it.

I was on this hwy today and drove right past the area = I wish I'd had known. Still close enough I could swing over and get it. I am looking for the headlight trim half moon not really sure what it is called. go's between the headlight trim ring and sticks out kinda looks like the headlight is wearing a hat or visor..

My bank account, storage space, and the other half begs to differ with you. :(

Don't bother, it's gone. ;)

I won't go into how much (little) I paid for it, don't need the hate mail. :p While picking it up He told me he had another setup, but not in as good of shape. I bought the second trunk and bag mount to get the mounting hardware for the trunk. Didn't pay much attention to the other bags or fairing as I had pretty much reached the capacity of a Honda Fit.

PROS: windshield looks to be brand new, radio works and there be horns in the fairing.
CONS: mounts for CB900 and second trunk busted around mounting holes, but I knew this going in. Also no lid spring in either trunk.

I was hoping one key fit all, but at least he had keys for all the locks. One for fairing, one for second trunk, and one for bags and first trunk. The upper mounting brackets on the 2 bag mounts are welded in different places and I don't know if it was a design change or one was for a different bike? Will have to be modified to work on a GoldWing either way.

One or two things left to do on the bike and I'll be ready to mount it.

Where is that round tuit?

I know I had one!

I have asked this question before and yet to get a answer. Here it is. I have 3 Vetter trunks. 1 has shallow tail lights in the trunk and the other one has deep tail lights. Any reason why this might be here is the picture on thr one on my bike20160101_192009.jpg and the next one is on a trunk I got a cpl weeks ago20160101_192009.jpg 35 215367.jpg Anyone ever see this type before and know why it is

I can't give you a definitive answer, and until this forum I thought there were only the 'shallow' lights. This was based on the trunk I had in the 70's and 4 I owned or had seen locally. Then the 2 trunks I purchased above both have 'deep' lights.

Not having been there, I suspect they were changed due to lack of availability, to reduce cost, or was a post-Craig decision. Much like the locks/keys are also varied. I haven't checked, but I suspect, after 30+ years, neither style are readily available new. I've seen pics of some 'replacement' lights that were made to fit. They look good, but obviously are not OEM.

IMHO, either are accurate OEM depending on who, where, and when the trunks were made.

Ok thanks. I had seen only a few with shallow lights, The one on my 78 and the one on the shelf also have deep. One other thing I've found that is a tell tail is the trunk with shallow lights also have the Vetter logo on the rear with the 45 record holder looking thinngy are the only trunks with shallow lights. It is also on the eside covers on the trunk. My 78 has standard logos on rear and side of trunk, Just caught me by surprise..! The fairing that matchs the bags and trunk are a windJammer ss.

I've seen all kinds of combinations of with or without the "45 record holder looking thinngy." IIRC, when the company was sold, rights to use the Vetter name went with, but not the logo once existing stocks were depleted.

Both of my recently purchased "deep light" trunks have no logo in any position. My 'shallow light" trunks had logo on sides not on the rear; logo on rear, not on sides; and logo on rear, no side panels. Of course I've mixed and matched since then and previous owners may have also.
