WJ V or Vindicator?

I picked up a Windjammer 5 last week and mounted it on my 76 Goldwing. I also still have the Vindicator that came with the bike when I acquired it years ago.

What is the general consensus on which fairing looks best on my bike? I'm interested in your opinion.

Thanks.

I like the WJ5. The reason for that is I like the molded in lights. I understand why others may not like them. As long as you never break or lose a lens they are fine. At this point they are near impossible to replace. If you haven't done it yet remove those lights pods and check they remain well attached to the reflectors. Over the years the glue that was originally applied to the lenses and reflectors has degraded and will allow the lens to fall away. It always happens when riding and worse you'll never see it hit the road. You'll get home and find it gone. It's easy to apply 3M glue to the lens and reflector so you'll not need to worry about them for another 40 or more years. When I checked mine they were held on by just a few remaining little spots of glue. I would have lost one or even both the first time I took it for a ride.

I have a v on mine, but if i had your choices id go with the vindicator. Makes it a lot easier to find lowers and i think the softer lines go better with your bike. Either way its a nice looking ride. Enjoy

I like the older versions of the WJ where the turn signals were not built into the fairing, so I lean away from the WJ 5 and towards the Vindicator.

Colder weather in store for us this weekend so I doubt I'll do any riding. I may fit the Vindicator on for kicks and see how it looks in comparison.

Weather reached 60 degrees today. Instead of taking a ride, I got a wild hair and mounted my Vindicator to the bike. I think I like the look of this one better even though I do not have front turn signals.

That does look really nice! As for the turn signals, I would make a simple bracket that attaches the turn signal light to the top windshield mounding screws. You could use two of those small LED turn signal lights (one on each side) so you don't need to drill any mounting holes.

I really do like the look of the Vindicator and the creative freedom it offers with modern turn signals.
I found one nearby the other day, listed as a WJ, but plainly a Vindicator. I'll pick it up when I have both time and money to do so.

It seems like all the white fairings are coming out of the woodwork lately, I picked up a fairly nice white WJ3 last year.

I seem to feel the need to collect them, help!

I found a WJ4 a couple of months ago but the light pods and one of the lenses were broken. He wanted $75. If it was perfect I would have taken it. I offered $25 but he refused to come off his original asking price. I walked away because of the work required to remove the pods and fill in the fairing where the pods were. There's just no way to replace them. I picked up a 1980 Dnepr Soviet Era sidecar motorcycle just before Thanksgiving and would like to put an undamaged Windjammer on it. I measured it and found a WJ will fit. I can fabricate a bracket for it just like I did for my 2006 Honda VLX 600. Thousands were imported into the USA in 1992 after the collapse of the Soviet Union. Used Dnepr Bikes are still being imported from Ukraine and parts are cheap and easy to order. Every Sidecar Motorcycle you see in the Indiana Jones movies were modified Dnepr Motorcycles to look like the WWII German Military Sidecar Motorcycles.
