Hello from MagnaWing!

I've just now discovered this site, after picking up a lovely bunch of Vetter stuff from CL.

I have the brackets to mount the WJ5 to an early first gen Honda V45, the lowers, a very nice tourpack with tailgate rack and brackets, and a very nice tall BACKREST with LONG mounting arms.

I have NO hardware to mount anything to anything, so if anyone has a good source for fairing/lowers mounting screws and washer, and other stock hardware I would love to hear from you.

My question:

Did Vetter make this backrest, or is it from another maker? If it is a Vetter product, how does it mount to the tourpack bracket? (Again, no hardware, and it feels like I am missing two brackets to secure the backrest).

Things I need:

Headlight and trim ring/pigtail for WJ5.

Tourpack pigtail.

Backrest Brackets

ALL hardware to mount everything to a V45 Honda.

Mounting instructions for the Honda Magna Kit? (I've seen PDF instructions to mount a Vetter to a SABRE, is it the same)?

A very nice set of hard side bags, in black, to match my other pieces. I'd need the hardware to mount the side cases as well.

Radio mount box.

I'm going to start sourcing parts on eBay, but if anyone here has information, wisdom, and parts to share/sell at a fair price, I'd rather buy from a member here. @#$% eBay lol.

I'll also post up a "WTB" list on the proper thread in this forum.

Anyhow, hello to everyone here. My Vetter gear is in awesome condition and I cannot wait to complete my "MagnaWing" project. Any and all help is much appreciated. Anyone done or seen a V45 or V65 fully decked with Vetter gear? Done it? Thanks!

That backrest and rack are not Vetter. Perhaps someone wanted to keep and use that backrest and rack after finding and attaching a Vetter trunk on their bike.
V45's and V65's were made after the company that purchased Vetter went bankrupt. I don't think any Windjammer brackets were made for the V45's and V65's. I have a Windjammer 4 on my 2006 Honda VLX 600 and had to design and fabricate all the required brackets myself. If you go to Craig Vetters Windjammer Website you can find examples of people fitting Windjammers to their modern bikes. What you've got to do is measure the width of the gas tank and the forks to see if it's even possible to mount that Windjammer on your post Vetter bike. Craig designed the Windjammer around your typical late 60's and early 70's bikes. Typically those bikes were a maximum of 500cc, had drum brakes in narrow forks, and long, narrow gas tanks. Modern bikes have disc brakes which require wider fork widths, and wide gas tanks at the front tapering to a narrow point at the back. Modern bikes are also going to be substantially larger engines than those 500cc 2 cycle triples that were popular back in the 70's. My Windjammer just barely fit on my little VLX 600 with it's small 2.5 gallon gas tank and single disk brake forks. If you can shoehorn a Windjammer on your Magna you will absolutely love it even after all the work required to make a bracket for it.

Welcome to the forum! Getting that stuff mounted to your Magna shouldn't be too difficult, you just will have to make/modify most of the mounting hardware, which shouldn't be too hard.

I have the brackets and hardware to install, (pictured).

Does anyone have a picture of what the Tourpack connector pigtail looks like? I'd like to find one, my tourpack is in ex condition and the socket is intact. Thanks.
