Hello everybody.

Well now there is money in my pocket an I have the engine out cause of a head gasket that started leaking from the piston chamber. The engine has been sitting on the bench since the second week of July sometime. So I have had a minuet to wright this down an let ya'll know I'm alive healthy an working on my bike. I have Ordered most of what I need to put the OldWing back together. I'm looking for another engine anything that I can shoe horn in the 1000 frame @ a reasonable price... Okay I hope everyone has a great long weekend .

Sincerely, Paul.

Hello everyone, I have been so busy working I haven't had anytime to post anything anywhere. So this weekend I took the weekend off to take a break from working 6 or 7 ddays a week. I have picked up a new engine for my bike the original one has the issue with the low spot on the block. I haven't had the time to take it to the machine shop for repair. So I did the next best thing, I bought another one an going to pick up one more an take the 3 and build up 2 with zero miles on the engine. As far as the cosmetic things I have all I think I need . I am however looking for a tool trat for the 78 GL. I had the orignal one But it was lost sometime ago. If anybody finds on Let me know ASAP. I will send the money to pay for it as well as shipping it to . Okay all have a great weekend wan a great week to come .. Doing my Wing Thing..

Hope you had a great weekend Paul. I will keep my eyes open for you. Hope everything is going great with the new job.

I have one that will cost you a road trip (ie come and get it.) Keep in mind if you go to a single carb setup, it will no longer fit. The single carb air filter will occupy the same space, at least on all the ones I've seen.

Do you still have the tray?

Hello again, I hope everyone has had a good couple months. I have found a couple engines for the bike I picked up one on the west coast of Florida. 6 Hr round trip on a Sunday it was raining the whole time. I also picked up a engine from they guy I bought all the Vetter stuff from. So many parts to list that I have now. I NOW HAVE LOWERS... They are off a GL an will work perfect. The only thing is my crash bars, I'm not sure if they will interfere with the lowers. I will see when they get here sometime in December. I picked up a rebuild kit from the carburetors along with a repair video. I learned a couple tips that will insure that they will work smoothly. I also pick up another set of them. Now I have 3 complete engines with carburetors and air box's.. Everything in threes as they say. When i pulled the original engine I found the lower end in great shape so I'm super stoked about this find. Along with the fact I have plenty of parts for my wing.. The most COOLEST thing is I have the original VETTER PACKAGE from front to rear. When I get it all painted and have the decals on the plastics installed I will post pictures. Thank you for reading my 6 year build in the making...

PS. Happy Thanksgiving

Paul.

I hope you had a fantastic Thanksgiving as well Paul. Thanks for the update on your GL! All I can say is you lucky bastard! You found some clean lowers for your GL, I have been looking for some Type 2's for my XS11 for sometime now.

Someday, someday, someday...

I had my hands on it when I originally posted. Haven't done anything with any tool trays, so it has to still be somewhere (buried under less than 2 months of accumulation.:()
Okay cool just let me know.. I have not seen any in awhile on line. I'm unsure how craigs list works haven't used that site @ all

Roncar, you can take a solder gun and heat up the plastic and repair that crack. To add strength to it, just add a strip of plastic to the back side.

Almost back together getting my LPF crash bars front headlight complete with Vetter rubber headlight cover 76 exhaust complete blinkers front rear and another set of Vetter fairing blinkers too. Just about there. I was also reading somewhere someone was looking for a 2 knob radio with power. i need to do some looking through my bookmarks but they do make one that is dual knob it also has a USB jack in it as well. Now the cool thing I learned is that tho's small 14 volt radios for Ryobi that sit on top of the battery's. These small speakers are plenty loud for a stock Cycle Sound catty. I'm going to look at the flea market for 2 of them or at least one of them to tear it apart for the speakers. Also was looking into the one that Milwaukee makes. there big $$$ so I think I will start with Ryobi first. I don't want to mod up the original one that I have it is a flush mount to the fairing no brackets. I've seen them Vetter ones that have bigger speakers but none for sale anywhere.. If I could land one then I wouldn't need to do anything but that's life an my luck.. here are some pictures of my bike up to the minuet. No fluids in it yet this pay I'll fire it up an finish painting the lowers get the little extras I need I picked up new fuel line fuel petcock oil filter an a front master rebuild along with a oil drain bolt.. Happy Holidays..

Man Paul, your engine sure looks sharp. Great job! Once you get that beast back together its gonna draw eyes from miles around. What Cycle Sound unit do you currently have? Can you post an image?
