My plans are never set in stone but I am planning a trip from Ohio to Oshkosh Wi, for the little airshow they have every year. Anyone here going? My plan is to head straight north and either take the boat across the lake at Ludington or go all the way around the lake through the U.P. I did that last year and it was a real nice trip....better than going through Chicago twice. Anyway I'll be camping at the airshow then back home.
Let me know if you're going and want to meet up.

Nice trip, and nice destination.
Oshkosh is one of those places / events I would go out of my way to get to.

I've gone many times, last year was my first on two wheels. Looking forward to doing it again.

I was going to fly up there with a friend. But due to staffing shortages at work, all vacation requests are being denied.

I know how that is, I was going to go to the Laconia bike week in NH. But the bosses had other ideas.

I haven't been to an airshow since I retired from the Navy in 2003. After seeing an air show off shore from the deck of an aircraft carrier where the FAA rules and restrictions do not apply, most other air shows are tame, but Oshkosh has always been one that I want to attend.

Well that sucks.

It does, but I understand where the administration is coming from. I had some bad planning on my part as well, such as having my trainee, and learned I potentially have to testify in court during that week. The joys of my job, haha.

Made it to Oshkosh, I even took to "short" route around the lake.ok so it added 300 miles or so vut I didn'thave to go through Chicago. From Ohio up through Michigan and around via the U.P. very nice ride.

Here's my camp site for the next few days.

You should see it at night when the old girl is tucked in. The tent wasnt cheap and it's a little large packed but it is so nice to be able to stand up inside to change clothes. Also with the bike inside the tent I use its battery to charge my phone at night.
