It was a good night on my end. Didn't have any fireworks related calls. I felt bad for the dispatchers as they had to take all of the calls and tell people over and over again what the county/city ordinances were in regards to celebrating. In all fairness, they had a "Fourth of July Bingo game" going. The squares were different calls.

I was stationed in Arizona in '73 when the National 55mph speed limit was instituted. My wife and I were attending a Lamaze class. Also attending were an Arizona Patrolman and his wife. The discussion got around to the new national law and one lady was very vocal in opposition. The Patrolman said the best way to have the law repealed was to enforce it to the exact letter. The vocal lady asked if he had given a speeding ticket to anyone for doing 56mph. He said he had that morning. The lady went off on the Patrolman referencing gestapo and other over zealous references.
The patrolman said, "Of course the lady I gave the ticket to was in a 25mph zone at the time."
