I've got a little red '65 CB160 Sport that I'm putting back together and I just had a thought. Dustbin. So off to the interwebs and this is what I came up with. https://t-cycle.com/collections/windwrap-fairings/products/wgx-full-fairing-only
It's sold for recumbent trikes, but if you turn one 45 degrees....it begins to take the position of a dustbin fairing with no side coverage, which might help with crosswind rideability. It's made of Lexan, it's 1mm thick and it weighs 4 pounds.
I'm thinking this could be frame mounted forward of the front wheel and should do the job quite nicely. I wouldn't even need to alter lighting with the clear lexan, and being a '65, my CB160 doesn't have turn signals to worry about.
I'm concerned with finding the top speed these things are rated for (if they have a max speed rating) but recumbent bikes, even with an electric assist are barely hitting 60mph downhill. Lexan is tough and resilient, with the compound curve it's strength is considerable. I think my CB160 will not be too much bike for this fairing.
Thoughts? I would definitely want to monitor engine temperature.
