I put these in my KZ1100 and recommend them for better handling.

Damping rod forks are notorious for being both too harsh yet too easy to bottom. This is the nature of damping rod fixed orifice forks. In the past all that could be done to improve these forks was change spring rate, oil viscosity or damping hole size, until now.
Cartridge Emulators make damping rod style forks perform like well-tuned cartridge forks. These tunable valves sit on top of the damping rods and are held in place by the main springs. This makes them both simple to install and completely tunable for all conditions and rider preferences.
Track tests have consistently produce lap times that are 1 or more seconds a lap faster while Cruisers and Gold Wing owners rave at the increased control and ride quality.

Would you mind giving us a little more of a review than "recommend," please? I've looked at them before, but I don't feel that I ride aggressively enough to appreciate the difference.

I had Race Tech rebuild my front forks on my XS11 and they put in the Gold Valve Cartridge Emulators. I do like the way my front end feels now.

They reduce diving on hard braking. If your forks are old these are worth every penny. This is in my opinion "the best bank for your buck", you can spend to increase handling of your bike. I posted this thread so guys like us who prefer older classics can know here is one way to make your forks better cheaply.

That's a bit more informative. Thanx.

I just rebuilt my forks, and there is very little braking dive. My existing springs were exactly the same length, and about 1/4" longer than the minimum. So far, I'm more than satisfied with the performance of the stock setup and the All Balls brand of seals and bushings.
