Just finished installing my second TP. First one was in the 80's with an 82 Aspendcade. This one is mounted to my 83 Interstate. Bought it 7 years ago from original owner without even starting it. Needed a new starter. Ten minute fix and haven't looked back.
Been thinking about going back to a hack for a couple of years and last few months seriously watching all the m/c sites. Passed up a couple. Too far, too much, missing parts, or just right out broken.
Grew up riding in Texas with a 78 GL1000 with Vetter fairing and bags. Never liked the cramped Vetter trunk, so went large with a Califia. Got lost almost 30 years ago and never went back. Raised a daughter up here. She's now moved to Austin and a couple of sisters are still down there. Will be back soon, but remember July and August heat. Might become a snow bird!!
This TP might look familiar. It's from Goldwing Guy in Upstate NY. Front yard picture of his rig with naked 81 GW was posted on VOG a couple of years ago. Any one want a cheap parts bike?
Looking forward to meeting everyone. Haven't really looked around for other members in the area. Let me know if your close or far.
