Hi all, just a couple of pics of my Tail Trunk in the last stages of being refurbished. The respray, in Candy Apple Red, will match the bike paintwork - in this case a '79 model Triumph Bonneville T140. Pinstriping by hand, I'll give myself 8/10 on that one. Next up - getting a suitable rack to mount it: watch this space......

One of my trunks might still have a rack of on it if you're interested. It would need refinishing I think, but if it's there, I don't mind parting with it

Hi and thanks for the offer !!! I think I'm good, through eBay I've found a Craven rack here in the UK which shouldn't need any mods just a quick respray.

If Rob doesn't want that mounting bracket, I might be interested. I, too, am in the middle of refurbing a tail trunk that came without the H-shaped piece that secures it to the luggage rack.

... been out on the initial shakedown ride, happy bunny !!!

It's an earlier trunk too, before Craig sold the company. Very good job!!! Clean resto. Do you have any before pics?

Kynan thanks. It was picked up on eBay maybe five years ago. Collection only and maybe three hours drive from me, the seller was surprised anyone would travel that far for it. But it looked clean, complete and, yes, came with a key !! Owners installation manual still inside. I'd had a Windjammer and Saddle Bags before in the '80's. Since my old bike had had a respray I had the paint code for matching up. With not much of a colour change I decided just to rub it down and not back to plastic and re-primer. Got away with it. New pinstriping was just the usual; slow careful stretching around the curves, hairdryer in hand. Careful clear coating; I've known pinstriping lift with lacquer getting under it on the curve wrinkles. There's no 'as I got it' before pics ( they've disappeared off eBay by now... ) but this is how it looked after an initial clean up and the Texas Trim chrome re-polished. I'd no idea until the final install whether the bulbs still worked. A. They did - all of them..........
