I got a free trunk when I bought a fairing a while back. It was trashed. The plastic was cracked, side panels drilled, etc. Now why wouldn't you just get better glue?? Somebody had to go drilling holes!

Well, I have trunk parts if anybody needs anything. Not for sale free if needed.

If no one else needs any of the parts, I'll take them. One of my trunks I've been hanging on to for parts but would like to complete it (used 2 trunks to make one good one.) I'd take the side panels as well. Holes in them is better than none at all. I could use the 'bunkies' and the mounting bracket as well, if available.

IIRC, I'm missing the back rest, lid spring, reflectors, side panels, mounting bracket & bunkies, 2 lenses & screws, and the chrome is rough.

LMK.

Heya Ron,

Happy to send the goods to you. Shoot me your shipping address via conversation or email me at admin@vetterowners.com and ill ship it to you Monday. I want to see the goodies go to a good home and somebody in our family. The only part I need is the emblems, and key lock.

nice pile of parts :) grats. should be enough to finish one good trunk :)

If you want I can try to dig up the info and pics for the trunk side reflective lights I installed. Not stock but a good fit with very little work/modifications...

BTW what else is missing or needs work?

This would probably good in it's own thread. I don't need reflectors right now, but info is always good.:)

Being poor,:( I'm saving that source for a last resort. No hurry until I have something to mount them to (and even then... still no hurry.);)

I resemble that remark, so what I did was just used a bolt, but rather than bolting the trunk directly to the mounting bracket, I inserted rubber door bumper similar to this one that I picked up at the local hardware store. Worked fine at a fraction of the cost...

I never managed to UNSCREW mine from the trunk. I didn't want to snap them and luckily they still are usable. But I knew there had to be way cheaper sources than Craig...

Those look just like the Vetter ones?? 7 dollars???? Lets all pool together any buy a set. We can compare to the originals.

These are ~3/4" tall (rubber part.)
The ones on the trunk I'm working on, are ~1" tall. (only one and a piece of one.)
The ones on my mounted trunk are ~3/4" tall.
At this point I don't know what was OEM, or even if both sizes were used at different times? 3/4" obviously WILL work!
I know I've seen a "WIDE" assortment of locks used through the production years, maybe there were "bunkie" changes as well? (due to availability/cost?)

I don't have my trunk right now as it is on my Dad's Helix, but I do not recall seeing that lock part on it. What is the purpose of that piece? Since it is a non-movinge piece, is it just there to take any slop out of the lock when the lid is closed and the lock is "locked"?

As the lid is plastic (ABS?) it appears that piece is for security and prevents the entire lock from turning when using the wrong key/screwdriver/etc. The 'finger' goes into a hole in the trunk that has a metal plate installed underneath.
