My bike and the Vetter

Looking intense! That is one pic that put a huge smile on my face tonight. I am sure my wife thinks i am looking at dirty stuff. Sexy Jammers!

Took a nice ride through the mountains yesterday. My bud rode the KZ and I rode my XS. So much fun!

I miss riding in the mountains around San Diego. That was a great place to ride!

This was a place called Breckenridge. Its is about 15 miles east of Bakersfield, CA. Off of Highway 58.

AMEN! Kick back, relax and enjoy the ride. I have a spare set of passenger floorboards that I am going to try to figure out a way to mount them in place of my high-way pegs so I can go flat footed.

At 6'3" tall, I like the added leg room the boards give me. With the floorboards, crash guards, and highway pegs I have 6 different places that I can put my feet while riding on the open road and that can really help on those long rides.

The heal/toe shifter was something to get accustomed to, but when I got the 1200, that was the first thing I bought for it. I have a hard time riding anything without board and a heal/toe shifter.

Brian, do you have pics of the heel/toe shifter? I bought one for my Wing and am not sure how it mounts.

Yea, but... Mine is like a home brew. I also have a Markland set at home. I actually built my own mounting bracket out of scrpa metal by using a piect of plywood to make a template until I had the right angles and hole alignment for what felt right for my feet. Let me get home and get some photos for you later tonight.

I thought about floor boards myself...I was leading a small pack of 10 XS1100's and one Harley with floor boards..well the Harley could not make the curves at road speed because he kept hitting his boards. It wasn't the bike or the rider but the boards were just too low..my buddy has them on his Honda..he doesn't seem to have any problems.I am 6'3 also Brian and I get a little cramped and put my feet on the passenger pegs, regular pegs and hwy pegs on the crash bars.

They are an acquired taste for sure and several times I drag the boards in a turn. No big deal because they are hinged and fold up if I drag it too much and my feet are usually on the hi-way pegs. Besides, that's why there is a sacrificial piece mounted on the bottom side of the board. When you are dragging the board, it is that piece that is dragging and not the board itself.

The set I have I bought used. A PO drug them so hard that the tubing was scrapped up pretty good. That may have led to a change of underwear!

I used to be a light packer till I met the other half:) Tent, sleeping bags, plastic, cooking gear...I usually slide my luggage rack up a little and put my suitcase there for a nice backrest on the longer trips even if I only have one change of clothes in it.She called me a "little packer" :) Well maybe not that exact word.
