Wasn't sure where to put this want ad, as I did not see the perfectly appropriate forum for it. Anyway, I found a brand new one, and now need another (the other aint bad, but compared to the new one....well, it just won't do, haw haw). Even looked into re-chroming, but being pot-metal, that will be EXPENSIVE (as in hundreds of dollars). That said, I would pay "appropriately" for a perfect or near perfect one. See pic below. And please PM or E-mail me at scottfettner@hotmail.com if you have what I need. Thanks, Scott

I have found that those aftermarket valve covers do not seal very well. For half the price of rechroming, you could buy a buffing/polishing machine at harbor freight and turn this:

into something like this:

All it took was a few hours and a little sweat because it was like 90 degrees on the day that I did it...

That advice is greatly appreciated, however the valve covers on my bike are pot metal rather than aluminum and can't be polished. And being that it's my Dad's old bike and I am slavishly devoted to keeping it as he had it, I can't switch to the aluminum covers as they are not quite the same. The left side cover on the bike is actually quite respectable, so I may wait on another drag spec piece. Best , S

Oh, I understand, and didn't realize that you don't have a pair of stock covers. Have you heard of Classicgoldwings.com? I am pretty sure some members will have some extras's laying around.

Excellent advice; I have indeed joined that site and Steve Saunder's site as well in order to place want ads. I am saturation bombing the net, one might say!

That tends to happen... A few other Wing forums to look at are North American GoldWings: http://www.northamericangoldwings.com/index.php and Naked GoldWing: http://www.ngwclub.com/forum/index.php?sid=d89d10c37c7fc4bb39250f32b19bfc6d. Alot of the same members on all the forums, but there are some that do not stray from their favorite so you will see some new avatars...

Well, took almost exactly a year, but I found a real nice used cover on Ebay....not NOS, but near perfect. Well worth the $31.50 plus shipping. Was the last (cosmetic) thing I wanted to upgrade on Dad's old bike.
