Mine is a "Kawasaki by Vetter" fairing, it looks very much Windjammer, but I don't know if it's like any of them or not. "Red" is an '83 KZ1100 A-3 that came optioned/installed from the dealer with the "Kawasaki by Vetter" fairing/tail trunk/hard bags, this wasn't a later add on. So not sure where she fits in the vast Vetter universe... I'll get the numbers off her gear and send them in as well. That might help identify them...

The Kawasaki by Vetter was a rebadged Vindicator.

"I sold Vetter in late 1978. My deal with Kawasaki was that we would sell our Vindicator Fairing (a Windjammer without the Leading Edge Lights) to Kawasaki, badged with the logo above. We can see from these pictures that the new owner of Vetter Corporation offered Windjammer Fairings and our saddlebags to Kawasaki as well.

All Vetter Fairings that were sold to Kawasaki as "Kawasaki by Vetter" began with the prefix 32. No, to answer your question, I don't know how rare these Kawasaki Windjammers are, but I thank you both for sending this information."

So, all in all, I am not sure what radio unit will fit snugly. As I do not have a Vindicator to test it with. I will do some research and find out.

The new guy "HighWinder" has the exact same fairing on his KZ1100 as I have on my KZ1100. Thinking it's a "WJ", not a " Vindicator ". The " WJs" had the integral turn sigs, the "Vinny" used the cycle's turn sigs. I could be wrong... lol...

Welcome to the forum Mark! You are correct that WJ had the turn signals either internal to the fairing's leading edge or bolted directly to a flat spot on the fairing. Vindicators used the bike's stock turn signals and mounts (if possible) or special brackets. There are some Kawi WJ's out there, just now way of knowing how many...

This is me- the same Mark behind "Voodoo Red". I got "tapatalk" on my Android smartphone to access the forums when away from home, and it uses the name of my yahoo.com and gmail.com email accounts- "dieselheart001"... So I don't know how Tapatalk did this, but this is me, guys.

If it fits a Windjammer, most likely it'll fit mine. HighWinder's KZ1100 fairing and bike is identical to Red. His is an '81, mine a '83, but all things on both bikes should be interchangeable. Mine is also titled as an LTD instead of an A-3, but is an A-3.

Voodoo, I just updated Tapatalk to the newest version. Are you using a iPhone or Android? Tapatalk has one login for the program itself (you can use your Yahoo or Gmail. However when you login to an individual forum you need to use your VoodooRed_KZ1100-A-3 login. Two users can be confusing, and you can't really keep track of stats. Let me know if you need any assistance and I will be happy to help you. Once you get Tapatalk working with Voodoo let me know and I will merge your posts and remove the other user.
