A call for Vetter serial numbers

The GS850 / 1000 bracket actually fits the XJ900F, but I never bolted it up to closely confirm, as the oil cooler was in the way. Any mods needed will be slight, I'm sure, and the OC can be shifted out slightly.

Thank‘s Dave. Fairing & paniers came off a Kawa 1300, 6cyl. I have all brackets but wasn’t able to check for fit. Hope to get started in June

Don't have any graphics to go by but my unit is on a R90/6 BMW of 1976. S#37-441914 now white pearl. I don't have a bucket head for my light but a homemade looking box instead. Love to correct that.

Entered my serial number in a web search and found this group. I was looking for a replacement windshield for my Windjammer SS. I think I have a new high for the WJ SS. 24-283185. It is on my 1977 BMW R100/7. Love that bike and love my Vetter!

Did you find your windshield? There are some aftermarket ones made still, but good used ones pop up on eBay all the time. All variations of Windjammer used the same windshield, just be sure to use the clips instead of the screws in the top holes.

I did. I got an aftermarket Slipstreamer S-170-M for $145 on Ebay. It came with a fresh set of mounting screws and clips. Installation went smoothly. I haven't thrown away the old one yet. It's in a couple pieces, but I feel like eventually I'll find a need for it. Anyone have any ideas for repurposing an old windshield?

Depending on how it is broken, it may still be usable. If a top chunk is broken off it can be cut down. I have cut down quite a few of them. I find the factory ones to be too tall, so I typically shorten them by about 3-4 inches.
