29 years ago this weekend, my wife saw something in me and decided to say "I do" when the preacher asked her if she would. So we are taking some time for ourselves and running away for the weekened. The bike is loaded on the trailer, our bags are packed, and it is just the two of us.

To ensure I am not guilty of not posting pics, here is at least one.

We learned a very valuable lesson in Niagara Falls. Avoid the old blind idiot or he might rip the door off of the saddlebag as he side swipes you and then claims... "I didn't see you."

Over 1000 pounds of bike and people and we are invisible! Thankfully that is all that it was, 4 broken pop rivets.

The view from below is pretty spectacular too. Just remember to wear the rain coat!

Now that I am home, I was able to take a look at things and access the damage:

When the door was ripped off, the bag was pulled out of the front mounting lug also. I guess this is the damage from rubbing on the brake rotor.

Minor cosmetic damage to the door:

Not too bad when you consider the door was sticking out of the fender skirt of a Buick Le Sabre like it was a speed brake.

I am surprised I remained calm, didn't swear or revert to my old Navy ways. I think it would have taken one word from my wife for that to have changed: "Ouch."

Thankfully nothing worse happened. Those views of Niagra falls look amazing; it's still on my bucket list of places to check out.
