Hi all. Just found this forum from Craig Vetter’s website. I acquired a 1977 Kawi KZ650 in exchange for a hunting rifle from my Brother a year ago. Along with the bike came a Windjammer SS that he took off at some point in the early 80’s. I finally got it put back on last week. I love this bike and it only has 13,400 orig miles on her. The radio still works but I want to put a modern radio in its place. I may also repaint the WJ to match bike.

That bike is the perfect candidate for a Windjammer! You are going to love how it changes the riding experience.

That radio enclosure was sold under two names, "Cycle-Sound" and "Vetter-Sound." Very easy to swap out the radio with anything that is single DIN size.

That Windjammer is in remarkable shape. Even zooming in, I could see no flaws, even to the edge trim. And, the windscreen look like it doesn't have a scratch. Nice trade! Was the rifle in that good a shape?

Ken, thank you for the comments. My Brother received a never been fired 7mm Thompson Center rifle and a box of ammo to go with it. It was a great trade. I just replaced the speakers because the originals were roached. I do want to replace the radio unit but not sure where to start. I have the clam shell type unit. I read some instructions somewhere about removal to get that radio out. Hoping others here on the forum can help me.

Thanks for those instructions Ken, I finally just picked up a Vetter Cycle Sound myself.

Happy I could help. They used to be very much in demand, but everyone nowadays has Bluetooth in their helmets (myself included). I have two CycleSounds sitting on my shelf that I probably should put up for sale.
