My new Old Vetter

This thread was supposed to be about another epic trip on the Wing with my Vetter leading the way, but sadly, Tuesday when I got a block away from my house, I saw a trail of steam coming from the right side tail pipe... ahhhh nuts! I blew a head gasket. I knew that me tickling that rev limiter all the time couldn't be a good thing. So now I find myself sitting in a campsite in New York for the night looking at the back end of my Jeep rather than the front end of my Wing.

So anyway, I am on my way to Northern Vermont to pick up my Vetter 2 or 3... Not sure exactly which one it is until I actually lay my eye and hands on it, but I suspect it is a 3. Either way, I happy with either one: I just wanted a decent conditioin fairing that has teh external turn signals and I finally got one.

I just got a 3 off of ebay the other day for the same reason! Sorry about the bike. Just another project. I hope you are back on 2 wheels soon!

Well thats a crapper Brian. Your story brought a tear to my eye. Nothing worse then planning this cool trip around with your bike, and it breaks. I can relate, when I was younger, every time I was planning a camping trip on my GT550 I would get half way there and something would break on that bike, then I got a CB750 and it didn't break. Get that thing fixed and continue your documentary! Let us know if it's a 2 or 3. Hope its a 2!

Can't tell if that is a WJ II or III. If you had a color scheme it would be easier.

A quick look at the serial number... and lighted side markers, says III.

Serial # is all telling, lighted side markers, not so much as was an option on the II. Craig or someone else will have to describe what the difference was between II and III. I've never seen a II up close.

I thought the lighte markers were only available on the III's... I guess I was wrong. Don't tell my wife I wrote that!

Oh yeah, 09-108,xxx makes it a III

Nice, sorry about the bike.Just found out why I missed this story,I wasn't home from the hospital yet
