Hey.

I just discovered this forum. What a good idea to have a forum dedicated to Vetter's amazing fairings.

I bought my first Windjammer (II) in August 1973. I rode to the factory in Rantoul, and installed it there on my Suzuki GT550. Over the years, I have owned a couple of other Windjammers. Currently, I have a Phantom 1600. According to Craig, " it is serial number 289... built July 31, 1970... but I don't know who it went to. Those records are gone." Some day, I'll get a Suzuki T500 for that fairing.

I forgot, I still have a pair of first-gen Hippo Hands that I use.

Welcome to the forum Bob!

I used to own a 75 GT550. My best friend Adam and I had a blast on that bike. It was one of the first bikes we built as teens. I remember hearing him putt into school for class. It was humorous because of the well know two stoke sound rang throughout the school. I think we smoked out the town with that bike too.

Thanks for the welcome.

I still have a GT750 Water Buffalo. In fact, I just ordered a set of chambers for it.

Name that year and bike!! The Midnight Restoration fellows working on one of our projects. Midnight Restoration is my local bike dork click. One of my best friends Jeff owns a brewery (Lengthwise Brewing Company) and that where we spend after hours restoring old bikes and drinking micro brews.

Restoring old bikes and drinking micro brews sounds just about perfect. Not being all that familiar with Kaw triples, I had to consult Alastair Walker's "The Kawasaki Triples Bible." I would say that the bike in the photo is a 1975 H1F.

I photographed the product literature that I got from Vetter in 1973. Someone should find this to be interesting.

On page 5, notice the drawing of the Yamaha GL750. Four-cylinder, water-cooled, fuel-injected two-stroke.
