Feels like it has been some time since I last logged in and posted. I do have a very good reason as to why, but I figured I needed to stop in.

About a month ago, I went into my local Harley Dealership to pick up a new oil filter for my 2010 Sportster. While I was there, I started to look at all the new motorcycles on the showroom floor... oops.

I ended up trading in my 2010 Sportster for a 2017 Street Glide Special in Laguna Orange. As of today I have owned the bike for 1 month and in that time I have put over 1,800 miles on it. Pretty much everything else in life has taken a back seat to me going out and enjoying the open road. I absolutely love this bike.

So the tax on that oil filter was a little more than expected... huh?

Enjoy the new ride!

:D

Haha! You could say that...

I've been enjoying it every day I've been off of work, unless of course the weather isn't great. Once I invest in some quality rain gear, I'll probably get out even more. I just rolled over 2,000 miles as of today. I also managed to get a learning experience in... first time doing some 2-up riding.

Congrats on the new bike! Looks fun. I am Vetter free till we get our house built, as I sold everything. Then I plan to get hot and heavy on it. Still looking for that Midnight Special XS.

This post could probably use a thread all by itself, but I'll just post it here.

I just took a short trip (425 miles round trip) to visit with my dad. On the way back I stopped in Topeka, KS to check out the Harley Dealership there (Historic Harley Davidson) and their newest addition, the Evel Knievel Museum. Adjoined to the dealership is the largest private collection of Evel Knievel memorabilia and artifacts. The only collection to rival this one is Evel Knievel's sons collection.

I could probably spend most of the day walking around this museum. If anyone is ever in the Topeka area or you're looking for a stop along the way, you have to check this place out. Other than the internet, where else can you see the Evel Knievel Mack truck (fully restored by the way)? I'll get some pics added to the post once I get them downloaded to my computer.
