Due to popular (;)) demand, here are some pix:

So that's how it was supposed to be mounted! :D

I like the tweeters: been thinking about the same thing.

I came up with a way to hole-saw the side with the lighter hole: I cut the hole on the right side first, and screwed the "slug" onto the left side as a locator hole for the pilot bit.

I chose these speakers because of the woofers' grill shape; it just fits top and bottom because of the flats, and the speaker itself has mounting ears rather than a complete ring.

Also, note the partial ring of foam between the headlight rim and the fairing. It's foam made for filling the gap between the window sashes when using a window A/C.

Nice job! The tweeters look super cool. They look like they were born there! Thanks for sharing the pics!

I saw it Tom, but since I already had it mounted, I figured why mess with it. Besides, these things were designed for the Nighthawk style bike so I am not sure that the stock mounting kit would have worked on a 1200 GoldWing.

Tom, that kit, as far as I can tell, does not contain the handlebar clamps that I showed close-up nor the U-shaped support rod.
