I've mentioned this elsewhere and got some positive feedback so I'll start a thread and welcome any and all comments.

The idea is pretty simple, work around the oil cooler and pipes to get a 4-point WJ mount clamped to the frame, same as it ever was.

I just remembered that last summer I picked up a WJ mount from a Honda CB550 to toy with, I hadn't taken any measurements but visually it looked like a good place to begin.
 
So I've also got a TEC Stinger 2:1 pipe that I'll be bolting on at some point. I just had a look at their website, it's 28lbs lighter than the stock exhaust, add subtract another 4 or 5lbs for deleting the center stand (it'd have no stops with this pipe and I'd knock my shins on it all the time) and that adds up to a 7.5% weight reduction, wow.

I grabbed this pic from TEC's website, this pipe should make it easier to add the fairing mount:
