So, as I stated in my introduction thread, I have an 05 HD Heritage Softail. Now I started riding on an 03 Shadow. I loved that bike, and one thing I remember while I rode that bike exclusively I’d constantly get heckled by the Harley crowd that I was riding a fake or imitation Harley. I bought my Heritage cause I liked the bike, not cause it was a Harley. I’ve had several Vulcans, an XS750, as well as several other Harleys. In any case, I’ve been wanting to turn the Heritage into a smaller touring bike, and now that I have the Vetter bits, I’m adamant on the idea of making it look like a Honda, just to confuse the crap out some people! I was originally planning on a batwing fairing that I’d have wrapped in black vinyl and then studded. Hence the road king classic bags and trunk that I was going to have studded as well. But the bags and trunk are starting to warp, so I’d been planning on putting Electra glide luggage on it, when it dawned on me that I already had the Vetter stuff… so, here’s my thread! My road to new paint, new upgrades, new look!!!

You do know that Vetter made a fairing for the older HDs called a Vindicator?? Big heavy fibreglass monster that also had a accessory dash with all sorts of options. I have only seen one and it was still on a HD it came installed by the dealer back when new. I knew of a couple in a storage warehouse owned by a previous HD dealer when he sold the business and finally retired. Sort of lost track of him as he does not live in my town.

You must be referring to the Liberator Limpy. :) That was a beast of a fairing. Super cool.

The Vindicator was basically a Windjammer smoothed out, no turn signals, sleeeeeek..

Oops!! I plead SENIOR MOMENT!! I am after all in my late 70's!! Yes, it is a monster of a fairing. Also the predessor to the current 'shark' nosed fairings the HD uses. The Windjammer lines were also copied by Honda on their fairings for 1200's or up as you can see if you park them all side by side. Identical silhouettes on all including the HD fairing.
