I didn't even know these existed - I want one, so badly. But not so badly I'd sell my granny, there are limits.

There are a few Vetter products that are as rare as hens teeth. That console is one of them.

That one came up on ebay past sales - went for $127 with a mere two bidders.

These items are rare in a small community of Vetter collectors. What you will notice is that most of the "rare items" that are in poor condition are passed on. Most collectors are in hopes of a NOS unit coming up, that will be bid to the moon.

Vetter goodies will only become more desirable as time moves forward.

I don't mind a poor condition unit - I can refurbish it, and I'm not a stickler for orginal instruments or colour. For example, I'd be quite happy with a bare shell I can cut a front plate for and fit with my own preferred marine-grade instruments, like KUS - they're not the world's best, but are ok and waterproof.
Same goes for the Cycle Sound enclosures - no point in me paying postage for a housing with ancient gubbins in it - as they'd be getting tossed out anyway. I'd rather have an an empty enclosure and put current fittings in it myself. Apart from that, gutting out the units of ancient useless tech cuts shipping cost.

Is there a cure for that?

I have a few to spare and my shop stereo is rather old and beginning to show its age, so I think I am going to buy a 12 volt power supply and convert a Cycle Sound into a shop stereo.
I think they'd be rather good at that, but don't start a craze - then the prices will go up and a shortage will develop.
