Well..... I got my luggage mounted. I did cut my XS11 Standard brackets and modified them to fit my Special. I wish I could have found actual Special brackets, however the results are... stunning.

17k miles Steppen, it was a costal bike that had just sat outside. I re-chromed a bunch of parts and cleaned and replaced about everything.

My bike needs soo much cosmetic work to make it look new again. I haven't been able to ride much due to work and a few health issues so I only have 85k on mine.Original on just about everything but cam chain.

Brian, I didn't even answer your question. The trunk is the proper mounting for this bike. I bought a trunk and mounting that came from a XS11 Special. I re-chromed the parts, and painted the others, and boom! Vetter trunk on a XS11 Special.
